At this Spring Festival, I would like to extend my warm greetings to Chinese communities across New Zealand on behalf of the National-led Government.

岁序更替,万象更新。值此新春佳节之际,我谨代表国家党政府，向全新西兰的华人社区致以最诚挚的节日问候。

I wish you all good fortune in the Year of the Horse, happiness for your families, and success in all that you do.

祝愿大家在马年里大吉大利、阖家幸福、万事如意。

The Spring Festival is a time of reunion for Chinese families- a time to celebrate peace and stability in our country.

春节不仅是华人家庭团圆的时刻，也是我们共同庆祝国家和平与安定的美好时刻。

Over the past two years, the Government has focused on creating a safer and more prosperous New Zealand for you and your families.

在过去的两年里，国家党政府致力于为您和您的家人创造一个更安全、更繁荣的新西兰。

We know that only by strengthening the foundations can webuild a better fiuture. This is not without challenges, but our resolve has never wavered.

我们深知,唯有巩固根基,方能开创更好的未来。尽管前行路上挑战重重，但我们建设美好家园的决心从未动摇。

A safe place to live is the right of all Kiwis. We heard the community's concems about law and order and have acted.

安居乐业，是每一位新西兰人的共同期盼。我们深切关注社区对治安的担忧，并正以实际行动履行承诺。

Over the past two years, we have increased frontline police numbers and cracked down hard on crime, especially violent offending.

过去两年多我们持续增加前线警力，严厉打击犯罪活动，尤其针对暴力犯罪和入室盗窃。

The number of victims of violent crime has fallen by 38,000, ram raids have dropped by 85 per cent, and youth offending is down 16 per cent.

如今，暴力犯罪受害者人数减少了3.8万人。"零元购"案件减少了85%，青少年犯罪率也随之下降了16%。

We have banned gang patches and introduced tougher sentences for criminals.

我们禁止帮派标识，实施了更严厉的刑罚，正全力确保社区的安全。

Our objective is clear and firm: reduce crime, protect families, and create a safe, stable environment where businesses can thrive.

I want to thank the Chinese MPs in the National Party.

They are an incredibly important bridge between the Chinese community, the National Party and the Government.

Even though the global economic environment remains challenging,

we have successfully driven inflation down from 7.3 per cent to 3.1 per cent, which has meant interest rates have fallen from 5.5per cent to 2.25 per cent.

This means the mortgage on your home or business is now much more affordable.

Under the steady leadership of the National-led Government, New Zealand's total global trade has grown by NZS12 billion.

Trade with China has now exceeded NZS40 billion- a new record high.

Behind these numbers are real gains: stronger books for businesses. and renewed confidence across the market.

By deepening our trade and economic ties with China, we've opened up new growth opportunities for New Zealand companies.

We're cutting red tape to help businesses invest, hire, and expand, and we're pursuing new trade agreements so Kiwi brands can get ahead in the world's most dynamic markets.

We are balancing New Zealand's books, so we do not burden our children and grandchildren with debt.

We are also looking after families.

We have introduced support for families that give you rebates of up to $240 per week on your childcare and we continue to raise the amount that retired New Zealanders have through New Zealand superannuation.

We believe strongly in the importance of education, and we know the Chinese community does too.

We are getting hack to basics. so our kids are set un for life. That means we have mandated one hour each of reading. writing and maths every single day.

We have banned cel phones in classrooms, and we have stopped the build of open plan classrooms where children get distracted.

And because of our changes, 43 per cent of new entrants are now excceding reading expectations and many are now making 12 months' maths progress in 12 weeks.

The Year of the Horse is about action, and that's what this Government intends to continue delivering for you.
