新西兰总理克里斯托弗·陆克森祝愿读者圣诞快乐，新年喜乐！

To all Chinese New Zealanders,

圣诞快乐，新年快乐！ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

As we come together for Christmas, many of us will be doing the same simple, important thing: making time for family. For New Zealanders, Christmas is a season of reunion – a chance to slow down, share a meal, check in on one another, and create the kind of memories that get talked about for years.

That value of being together is something Chinese New Zealanders understand deeply too. The idea of 团圆 – reunion, belonging, and family connection – is at the heart of many cultural traditions. At Christmas, those traditions and Kiwi traditions meet in a uniquely New Zealand way.

Being together also means being able to feel safe in the places we live, work, study, and celebrate. As Prime Minister, restoring law and order has been a priority - putting victims first, increasing consequences for offending, and ensuring Police and the justice system have stronger tools to do their job. We are also seeing encouraging progress in reducing violent crime, with 38,000 fewer victims of serious violent crime since we came to Government.

Alongside safer communities, we are focused on building a stronger economy, because the best social policy is a job, a pay rise, and the confidence to plan for the future. I am proud of the work our Government has done to deepen and formalise multiple trade relationships that have started to create more opportunities for Kiwi businesses, lift export returns, create more jobs and help make New Zealanders better off.

I am especially proud of the strengthened relationship between New Zealand and China. China remains our largest trading partner, with two-way trade exceeding NZ$40 billion. This year, I also made my first official visit to China as Prime Minister, meeting with senior leaders across government, trade, investment, education, and tourism.

Connections between people matter just as much as trade. That is why we have also supported steps to make travel easier, including visa-free travel for eligible Chinese visitors via Australia, and faster visitor visa processes for Chinese visitors. These changes help reconnect families and friends, and they strengthen the ties that make our relationship so resilient.

Looking ahead to the New Year, our Government will keep its foot on the gas to grow the economy and keep New Zealand moving forward. We’ve had a positive end to 2025, and with all the indicators pointing toward growth, Kiwis can go into Christmas confident the economy has finally turned the corner. We are focused on fixing the basics, and we will need everyone to join to build the future.

The Chinese community is an important part of New Zealand’s history, an essential part of our present, and a valued part of the story we are writing together for the next generation.

Thank you for everything you contribute to our country – in business, in community leadership, in education, and in the everyday acts of service and kindness that strengthen our nation. I look forward to continued engagement between our Government, our Members of Parliament, and Chinese communities across New Zealand.

在这个圣诞节，我们相聚一堂，很多人都会做一件简单却重要的事：腾出时间陪伴家人。对新西兰人来说，圣诞节是团聚的季节——是一次放慢脚步、共享一顿饭、彼此问候关心、并创造那些多年后仍会被反复提起的美好回忆的机会。

这种“在一起”的价值，新西兰华人同样深有体会。“团圆”——重聚、归属与亲情连结——是许多文化传统的核心。在圣诞节，这些传统与新西兰本地Kiwi的传统，以一种独特的新西兰方式相遇、交融。

在一起，也意味着我们能够在生活、工作、学习与庆祝的地方感到安全。作为总理，恢复社会治安与秩序一直是我们的优先事项——把受害者放在第一位、加大违法犯罪的后果，并确保警方与司法体系拥有更强有力的工具来履行职责。我们也看到令人鼓舞的进展：自我们执政以来，严重暴力犯罪的受害者减少了3.8万人。

在建设更安全社区的同时，我们也专注于打造更强健的经济，因为最好的社会政策，就是一份工作、一次加薪，以及对未来做规划的信心。我为政府在深化并正式建立多项贸易关系方面所做的工作感到自豪——这些努力正在为新西兰企业创造更多机会、提升出口回报、带来更多就业，并帮助新西兰人过上更好的生活。

我尤其为新西兰与中国关系的不断加强而感到自豪。中国仍是我们最大的贸易伙伴，双边贸易额超过400亿纽币。今年，我也以总理身份首次正式访问中国，与政府、贸易、投资、教育与旅游领域的高级领导人会面交流。

人与人之间的联系，与贸易同样重要。这也是为什么我们支持让出行更便利的措施，包括为符合条件、经澳大利亚入境的新西兰免签的中国访客提供签证便利，以及加快中国访客签证办理流程。这些变化有助于亲友团聚，也进一步巩固了让双边关系更具韧性的纽带。

展望新的一年，我们政府将继续全力以赴推动经济增长，让新西兰持续向前。2025年末的形势令人振奋，各项指标都指向增长，新西兰人可以带着信心进入圣诞季：经济终于走出拐点。我们将继续“把基础打牢”，也需要每一个人加入进来，共同建设未来。

华人社区是新西兰历史的重要组成部分，是我们当下不可或缺的一部分，也是我们为下一代共同书写故事中宝贵的一章。

感谢你们为新西兰所作的一切贡献——无论是在商业领域、社区领导、教育事业，还是在日常生活中那些服务与善意的点滴行动，都在让我们的国家更强大。我期待政府、国会议员以及全新西兰各地华人社区之间持续加深交流与合作。

First and foremost, I want to give a big thank you to our communities for welcoming the Labour team and I into your spaces this year, be it into your businesses or at big events!

It’s been a massive year for Labour. We’ve heard loud and clear from our communities on what matters most to them – jobs, health, homes and real action on the cost of living.

But it's also been a hard year. So many of our business owners are feeling the pain of a failing economy.

No matter the struggles, I’m often greeted with warm smiles whenever I meet with community business leaders. They’re future-focused and eager to continue making big contributions to their communities and the country.

Have a well-earned rest, soak up the sun, stay safe – and I look forward to seeing you all again in the new year!

首先，衷心感谢 APT 中新时报 这个宝贵的平台，把我们紧紧连接在一起。也谢谢各位读者与听众一直以来的关注、留言、来信、以及平日里的交流。你们的意见和建议对我非常宝贵——很多时候，正是你们的真实经历与观点，让我在国会的工作与辩论中有更扎实的论点、更清晰的思路。我真心感谢你们的信任与支持。

2025 年对很多家庭与企业来说都不容易。我特别想对华社朋友们的坚韧与互相扶持说一声谢谢。无论环境如何变化，我们都没有放弃希望、没有停止努力。我相信，只要我们继续团结、继续前行，我们一定会共同走出困境，一定会走向更好的未来。

今年我也很荣幸随同新西兰总理出访中国，亲眼见证新中两国在经贸、人文、教育与旅游等领域的交流不断加深。此行中我也很开心与毕业于怀卡托大学的中国著名作家马伯庸相聚，一起畅聊并聆听他分享当年在怀卡托生活与求学的美好时光，更让我感受到怀卡托与世界之间深厚而温暖的连接。

与此同时，在国会里我也持续为华社争取更多支持与机会。以心理健康为例，我很高兴看到政府在相关领域提供了进一步支持与资源——这对许多家庭来说，是非常重要、也非常实在的帮助。

展望 2026 年，我会继续尽我所能，与政府及国家党党团并肩努力，推动新西兰经济卯足全力增长，让更多家庭看到机会、拥有信心，为每个家庭奋斗更美好的未来，也为新西兰的未来持续打拼。

最后，祝愿您和家人圣诞快乐，预祝元旦快乐！愿 2026 年一切顺利、家庭幸福美满、事业有成、身体健康、心想事成。我们新的一年继续保持联系，一起努力、一起向前！谢谢大家！
